We were here for Chinese new year in February 2015 and it was unbelievable! It was hard to figure out what was going on in advance, but on the day itself it was quite obvious, the whole of binondo was crammed with chinese dragons and dancing lions, the lions visited different shops and businesses for good luck, setting off lots of fire crackers and doing traditional dances, before collecting red envelopes with donations for the dancers.

 

                             This continued all day and all night, with a parade around 3pm, however the streets were so overcrowded that the parade could barely move! Definitely worth a visit at this time of year in particular.
